Music Salon Emmanuel presents Oleksandr Korniev

 

A multi prize winner of various competitions, including Futian International Violin Competition (1st Prize), Astana International Violin Competition (Grand Prix), Lysenko International Violin Competition (4th prize) and semi-finalist at the Singapore International Violin Competition 2015, Oleksandr Korniev is currently a student at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Prof. Qian Zhou.

Fully trained in Ukraine at the Kharkiv Special Middle Music School, Oleksandr has toured extensively as both soloist and chamber musician in Ukraine, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, Japan, Israel, USA and China before residing in Singapore.

He has worked with many renown violinists including Leonidas Kavakos, Zachary Brin, Edward Grach, Vadim Repin, Valeriy Sokolov and Shmeul Ashkenazi.

Music Salon Emmanuel kickstarts our first Artist Series with “A Mostly Debussy Sampler” this July!

 

Dr. Lucas Wong (M.M., M.M.A., D.M.A.) is a graduate of the prestigious Yale School of Music and currently holds the position of assistant professor at the Soochow University School of Music. He will be debuting his well-received “Mostly Debussy” project in Singapore at our Kallang showroom on our Fazioli piano. Also a vocal pianist and assistant conductor, Dr. Wong is one of his leading generation to combine theatrical and vocal techniques in piano playing. He recently released his CD Album “SCHERZANDO PIANO” recorded on Fazioli in Sacile.

Acclaimed pianist Angela Hewitt, best known for her Bach interpretations, showcases her prowess in Bach’s Partita No. 1 and 4, among the last of his keyboard suites to be composed. The programmes also includes Ravel’s Sonatine and Emmanuel Chabrier’s Bourrée fantasque, cited as “one of the most exciting and original works in the whole literature of French piano music”.

The VCH Presents series showcases some of the finest musicians through diverse programmes which transcend boundaries.
